About
I’m Trevor. I live in Grand Rapids with my girlfriend and our two cats. I spend my time watching Newcastle United and stockpiling links and old paperbacks. Here’s what I’m up to now.
I’ve loved falling down the rabbit hole of personal blogs since I started using a computer unsupervised. I envied everyone with their own domain, but it felt too daunting to have my own then. Now, I have this one.1 I’ve been parked on it for a while, but always stopped myself short of doing something with it.
The question, “do I really have anything worth sharing?” has gotten in my way. Now, I see that it misses the point.
…there is also a smaller, less-visible web designed by regular people to simply to share their interests and hobbies with the world. A web that is unpolished, often quirky but often also fun, creative and interesting.
I’ve decided to contribute to the web instead of lurking (exclusively 🤫). I’m not sure what that will look like yet, but I’ll try to treat this blog as much like an open notebook as I can convince myself to.
Content
Without hard and fast rules for what I’ll post, I’m sure these will be common:
- Books
- Movies and TV
- Music
- Life updates
- Links from around the web
- Running
- Soccer
- Digital archiving (photos, films, videos)

Anytime I sign up for a new service I try the username “trevorrice”. It’s almost always taken, no matter how early I join the site, so I was delightfully surprised trevorrice.com was stil available. ↩︎
